MUNICH, Germany, Jan. 23 (UPI) -- Thousands of Germans braved the cold to say goodbye to slain fashion designer Rudolph Moshammer.
As many as 10,000 people lined the streets of Munich as the hearse proceeded to the cemetery, eight days after the flamboyant 64-year-old designer was found dead at his home, the BBC reported Sunday. An Iraqi man has been charged.
Moshammer, known for the extravagant clothes he designed and wore, was always seen with his beloved Yorkshire terrier, Daisy, in his arms.
The German newspaper Bild reported Friday that he had left his Munich villa to Daisy to live there until she dies, cared for by his former chauffeur.
The funeral procession stopped for a moment of silence outside his boutique, before proceeding to a Munich cemetery where he was buried next to his mother and a previous pet Yorkshire terrier.
Austrian-born Arnold Schwarzenegger, now the governor of California, tenor Jose Carreras and Las Vegas-based magicians Siegfried and Roy were among Moshammer's clients.
