Poll has Bloomberg strong for re-election

WASHINGTON, Jan. 19 (UPI) -- New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg got favorable job marks from half of the city's voters in Wednesday's Quinnipiac University poll.

Bloomberg, a Republican, also turned in better than expected numbers against his potential Democrat opponents. The poll showed him even with ex-Bronx Borough President Fernando Ferrer and ahead of all the others.
