WEST BANK, West Bank, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Hundreds of students attended a rally Monday organized by Hamas at Bir Zeit University in the West Bank, calling for more suicide attacks against Israel.

"Oh suicide bomber, wrap yourself with an explosive belt and fill the scene with blood," chanted a chorus of five male students at the rally, held by the Hamas-affiliated Islamic List.

The protest marked the ninth anniversary of the killing of Hamas bomb-maker Yehya Ayyash, also known as "The Engineer, who was responsible for a spate of suicide bombings that killed about 100 Israelis in the mid-1990s, reported the Jesusalem Post.

Green Hamas flags and portraits of Ahmed Yassin and Abdel Aziz Rantisi -- slain Hamas leaders -- dotted the campus and the hall where some 500 protesters gathered.

Meanwhile, Hamas leaders said Monday they would deal with Palestinian President-elect Mahmoud Abbas.

Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri told reporters the movement would deal with Abbas, who captured 62.3 percent of Sunday's balloting. He said Hamas really wants the election to be successful even though movement believes it was "not comprehensive."
