JoJo quit school due to 'jealousy'

NEW JERSEY, N.J., Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Teen pop singer JoJo -- aka Joanna Levesque -- has said she was forced to quit school when her success caused intense jealousy among her New Jersey classmates.

JoJo, 14, said a number of her fellow pupils turned bitter once she found success, Teen Hollywood reported Monday. Her parents pulled her our of the hostile environment and chose to home school her.

However, JoJo said she chooses to keep a positive outlook.

"I feel that going through hard times gave me something to write about," she said.
