Lazar Raynal, the McDermott Will & Emery attorney representing Liesel, asked a judge to dismiss the siblings' suit in Cook County Circuit Court Thursday after the final money transfer to their trust funds was completed, the Chicago Tribune reported.
The settlement avoided a purported plan to devolve the Chicago family's $15 billion empire while simultaneously catapulting the two college students, age 20 and 22, into a financial stratosphere that would make the likes of Paris Hilton green with envy.
"This was a very unique and difficult case. It involved some very sensitive family issues. It involved young clients who have their whole life ahead of them," said Dan Webb, another attorney representing Matthew. "I just didn't believe a public trial was in the best interest of anyone."
