GAZA, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- An Israeli drone fired a rocket at a leading Hamas militant Tuesday but a Palestinian security source said the target survived.

The target was a member of the Izzedin al-Qassam Brigades and was traveling in the city of Khan Younes. He managed to jump out of his car before the rocket hit.

The source did not identify the militant but said he is a leading activist.

No casualties were reported.
