Photographer sues 50 Cent

NEW YORK, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- A New York Post photographer has filed suit against rapper 50 Cent for an alleged assault involving members of the rap star's entourage.

The lawsuit, filed by photographer James Alcorn, alleges 50 Cent -- whose real name is Curtis Jackson -- hired seven unidentified men who assaulted and battered Alcorn, website Celebrity Justice reported Monday. He claims the assault caused him "severe and serious injuries ... As well as mental shock, and psychological trauma."

The alleged Aug. 2003 incident occurred after the rapper and several bodyguards purchased an $18,000 watch in Manhattan's diamond district. Alcorn claims after he took a photograph of 50 Cent, the bodyguards attacked him.
