NEW DELHI, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Indian police Friday arrested a top executive of Internet auction site eBay's Indian subsidiary for offering a porn clip for sale.
India-born American citizen Avinash Bajaj, chief executive officer of the leading auction Web site Baazee.com, was arrested as part of the investigations related to the sale of eight DVDs that showed a female student of the Delhi Public School performing oral sex on a classmate.
Police have already arrested Ravi Raj Singh, an engineering student, who auctioned the DVDs, which sold $3 apiece.
"Our investigations revealed that Baazee.com did not exercise due diligence, which is why the sale was continuing," said Prabahkar, a senior police officer.
About six weeks ago, two teenagers filmed themselves on the boy's mobile phone during an oral sex act "just for kicks."
When the boy and the girl broke up a few days later, the boy allegedly started sending the clip to other classmates. The 2.37-minute film clip soon traveled across the country and overseas, appearing on a number of Web sites.
In August, eBay bought Baazee for $50 million. Baazee said in a statement it was "shocked and outraged" to hear of Bajaj's arrest and noted it had been cooperating fully with the police.
