Hamas attacks Jewish Gaza settlements

GAZA, Dec. 11 (UPI) -- Hamas said Saturday it fired rockets at Jewish settlements in Gaza as retaliation for a Palestinian who died as the result of an earlier Israeli attack.

Al-Qassam Brigades, the Hamas military wing, said its militants fired two mortars at the settlement of Nitzarim and two others at Rafih Yam in southern Gaza.

There was no information about damage or casualties, and no comment from Israel.

The 20-year-old Palestinian died Saturday from wounds he suffered in the Israeli attack a month ago.
