Brazil: Scientists discover new dinosaur

SAO PAULO, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Brazilian paleontologists have discovered a new dinosaur fossil in the south of the country, Estado de Sao Paulo newspaper reported Friday.

The 225 million-year-old fossil was one of the oldest dinosaur discoveries in the world and is said to be similar to dinosaurs found in Europe, evidence of the super continent that broke up into present-day land forms millions of years ago.

Paleontologists said the ancient herbivore creature was just over 8-feet long and walked on its hind legs.

Dubbed Unaysaurus, the name comes from the Indian Tupy language word "unay" meaning Black Water, indicating where the fossil was found.
