MONTROSE, Colo., Nov. 28 (UPI) -- NBC Sports Chairman and President Dick Ebersol was in a jet crash Sunday that reportedly killed at three people and injured two others in Montrose, Colo.
The crash took place on take-off near the Montrose Regional Airport, KUSA-TV reported Sunday. Ebersol survived the crash.
The plane's pilot, flight attendant, and one passenger died when the plane burst into flames after plowing through a fence, said Federal Aviation Administration Spokesman Allen Kenitzer. However, the local sheriff's department only confirmed two deaths.
Two passengers suffered life-threatening injuries and were taken to a local hospital. A sixth person was reported missing after the crash.
The FAA and National Safety Transportation Board dispatched investigation teams to the area Sunday to determine the cause of the crash.
