Bus accident kills 14 in Indonesia

JAKARTA, Nov. 25 (UPI) -- At least 14 people including three children were killed when an overloaded pickup they were traveling in was hit by a bus in Indonesia, police said Thursday.

The accident occurred Wednesday evening on a busy highway in Central Java province. Thirteen of the victims died on the spot, including the three children, said policeman Edy Setyo.

At least 14 other passengers were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

An investigation is under way to determine the cause of the accident, while the bus driver had surrendered to police.
