AUCKLAND, New Zealand, Nov. 22 (UPI) -- Workers at an old house in Auckland, New Zealand, found a human jawbone and several bullets under the property.
The workers were tearing up a hallway in the center of the century-old former boarding house when a craftsman found the skull and rifle shells, TV New Zealand reported Monday.

Police said a spent rifle cartridge, plus several other live rounds, lay near the skull's jawbone. They were investigating to see if a homicide had occurred.
Meanwhile, an archeologist from the Historic Places Trust estimated the jawbone, which is rotted and missing most of its teeth, could be 100 years old.
