Blair to campaign on terror, crime

LONDON, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- British Prime Minister Tony Blair will reportedly place national security and crime at the heart of his bid for a third term, The Scotsman reported Sunday.

"Operation Third Term" has identified the issues of fighting terrorism and boosting public safety as the edge of a campaign originally intended to focus on reforms to public services, The Scotsman said.

The Labor Party's pitch will be modeled as appeal to the electorate's safety concerns, similar to U.S. President George Bush's appeals to "security moms," The Scotsman said.
