DETROIT, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- A school bus driver taking 50 children on a field trip Thursday was stabbed by a knife-wielding woman at a McDonald's restaurant.
The driver and the children had stopped for lunch when the woman entered the McDonald's and announced a holdup, police said.

The bus driver tried to stop the woman and was stabbed in the neck and back. A school counselor also tried to intervene and was stabbed in the hand.
The injuries to the two were not believed to be serious, WDIV-TV, Detroit reported.
The students witnessed the stabbing and helped detain the culprit until police arrived and arrested her.
