SASKATOON, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- A Saskatchewan, Canada, judge will rule Friday on whether the province will become the seventh to allow same-sex marriages, it was reported Wednesday.
Justice Donna Wilson heard from lawyers Wednesday representing five gay and lesbian couples who were denied marriage licenses, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp reported Wednesday.
The judge was expected Wednesday to rule in favor of same-sex marriage, since neither the provincial nor the federal government plans to contest the application.
Same-sex marriages are legal in Ontario, British Columbia, Quebec, Manitoba, the Yukon and Nova Scotia.
