NEW YORK, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- Five baggage handlers at JFK International Airport in New York have been charge with stealing about $23,000 in electronic gear from passengers' luggage.
The current and former employees of ground-services contractor Swissport swiped laptop computers, cameras, printers and other high-tech gadgets, the New York Post reported Saturday.
In at least one instance, items were sold on eBay, prosecutors said.
"The defendants are charged with victimizing air passengers by stealing expensive electronic equipment including computers and cameras from their baggage," said Queens Assistant District Attorney Richard Brown.
The suspects include three current Swissport baggage handlers and two former employees.
