Blast rocks Islamabad Marriott

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- A powerful explosion rocked the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad, Pakistan, Thursday, the BBC reported.

The number of casualties was not yet known, but a BBC correspondent at the scene reported "real devastation" around the luxury hotel, which was cordoned off by police.

Investigators were trying to determine whether the blast was caused by an electrical short circuit or a bomb, the BBC said.

One of only two five-star hotels in the city, the Marriott is frequented by foreign media and business people, the BBC said.
