LONDON, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Egyptian-born Islamic cleric Abu Hamza appeared by video link in London court Tuesday at his trial on 16 terror-related charges, Sky News reported.

The 47-year-old who has no hands and just one eye formerly ran a north London mosque, where he was arrested in May.

Ten charges allege he solicited others at public meetings to murder non-believers, including Jews, while four other charges accuse him of "using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behavior with the intention of stirring up racial hatred."

Hamza is also charged with being in possession of eight video and audio recordings, which he allegedly intended to distribute to stir up racial hatred.

The final charge under the Terrorism Act accuses him of possession of a document which contained information "of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism."

Hamza will continue to be held at the high-security Belmarsh prison in London until his next court appearance, scheduled for Dec. 21.
