Poll: Almost half in U.S. creationist

LONDON, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- The number of firearms-related deaths fell in the first half of this year in Britain, but the number of gun-related crimes rose in the same period.
Government figures show firearms offenses rose 3 percent from the same period of the previous year to 10,590 incidents, Sky News reported Thursday.
In the same period, gun killings fell 15 percent and the use of handguns declined 10 percent.
Also, violent crime rose by 11 percent in the second quarter of this year.
"There is an issue about violent crime so let's take it head-on," Home Secretary David Blunkett said. He said the government will target those areas and neighborhoods where violent crime remains a concern.
