DALLAS, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- Former President George H.W. Bush is flying from state to state in the last days of campaigning to do what he calls "my part" for Republican candidates.

Bush flew into Dallas late Tuesday to boost the candidacy of Republican Rep. Pete Sessions, the son of his former FBI director, after another stop in nearby Rockwall and a speech in Oklahoma for Republican Senate hopeful Tom Coburn.

"I still want to do my part," the 80-year-old former president said, but he admitted he doesn't miss the rigors of the campaign trail.

Bush was in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Louisiana last week for congressional candidates, always putting in a good word for his son, the current president, who he said "is doing pretty darn well."

Sessions, the son of former FBI Director William Sessions, is facing Democrat Rep. Martin Frost in a battle of survival between two incumbents for the 32nd District in Dallas.
