UNRWA wants Israel apology

AMMAN, Jordan, Oct. 13 (UPI) -- The U.N. Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees asked Israel to apologize for alleging agency ambulances were used to move Qassam rockets.

UNRWA Chief Commissioner Peter Hansen said in Amman Wednesday he asked Israel to apologize for its accusations and to repudiate the allegations as forcefully as it issued them.

Israel said Tuesday it was wrong to accuse UNRWA of helping Palestinian militants in Gaza to move the rockets.

Hansen spoke at an unofficial meeting of countries that make donations to the agency.
