BEIRUT, Lebanon, Oct. 13 (UPI) -- Two Lebanese hostages in Iraq were released Wednesday and arrived at their company's offices in Baghdad safely, the company's lawyer said.
Yasser Ali Ahmed told UPI Aram Nalbandian and Charbel Hajj, who were kidnapped in Baghdad on Sept. 17 by the Islamic Jihad and Tawheed group, were liberated.
"I received a telephone call from the company's owner who is in Baghdad at present confirming their release," Ali Ahmed said, adding that Nalbandian suffered from a fractured hip.
The foreign ministry said it was informed about the release by the Lebanese charge d'affaires in Baghdad.
Ali Ahmed refused to say if a ransom was paid, noting, however, the kidnappers had asked for one.
"When the two ex-hostages return home, we will be able to divulge more information," he said.
There are still three Lebanese nationals missing in Iraq.
