Wash. teen saved after week in wrecked car

REDMOND, Wash., Oct. 11 (UPI) -- A teenage girl was recovering in a Seattle hospital Monday after spending more than a week trapped in her car at the bottom of a ravine.

The Seattle Times said a member of Laura Hatch's church credited a psychic impression with leading rescuers to the ravine in Redmond where Hatch apparently had been trapped since Oct. 2.

The 17-year-old Redmond girl suffered broken bones and a possible blood clot in her brain.

King County sheriff's officials conceded they had not searched for Hatch on the assumption she had run away, however, her family and members of her church had been looking for her, including one who claimed her prayers generated some kind of psychic message that brought her to the brush-filled ravine.

Sha Nohr said she and her prayer group asked Laura be allowed to speak to them, and she wound up pulling over along a lonely rural road and finding the car hidden some 150 down the ravine.
