British man jailed for gay sex in Morocco

RABAT, Morocco, Oct. 4 (UPI) -- Kenneth Watson of Britain has been jailed in Morocco for having sex with an 18-year-old Moroccan man and a 16-year-old boy, the British Embassy said.

Homosexuality is illegal in Morocco, but the country has long been a popular destination for sex tourists, the BBC reported.

Watson, 66, is appealing his one-year sentence. The 18-year-old male was also sentenced to a one year in prison, but the 16-year-old male was released because he is a minor, the BBC said.
