COVALLIS, Ore., Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Another 'person of interest' was named Thursday in the disappearance of a young woman near the Oregon State University campus.
Corvallis police said Aaron James Evans, 21, had not been named as a suspect in the case of Brooke Wilberger, who was last seen in an apartment complex near campus on May 24.
Evans was arrested Wednesday for allegedly grabbing an OSU coed who was taking a morning walk. KATU-TV Portland said Evans was tracked down with aid of a citizen's tip that indicated Evans was acting suspiciously at a grocery store Wednesday.
The investigation into the 19-year-old Utah woman's disappearance has made little apparent progress despite national media attention. There have been five other individuals named as 'persons of interest' in the case, however no arrests have been made.
Police said earlier that the attack Evans was charged with bore few similarities to the Wilberger case.
