U.S. Post office to issue holiday stamps

WASHINGTON, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- The U.S. Postal Service will issue four commemorative holiday postage stamps in October and November.

The first-day-of-issue commemorative stamp -- Christmas: Madonna and Child by Lorenzo Monaco -- will be dedicated Oct. 14 in New York City at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

On Oct. 15 a Hanukkah stamp will be dedicated at the Javits Convention Center.

A Kwanzaa stamp will be issued Oct. 16 in Chicago at the DuSable Museum of African American History.

And a stamp featuring holiday ornaments will be issued Nov. 16 in New York at Lord and Taylor's holiday window unveiling.

"The United States Postal Service is thrilled to help Americans celebrate this most festive time of year with such a wonderful variety of holiday stamps," S. David Fineman, chairman of the U.S. Postal Service Board of Governors, said in a statement Monday.
