MEXICO CITY, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- The secretary of public security for Mexico City Tuesday announced Mexico will be coordinating with other Latin American police forces to fight crime.
Secretary Marcelo Ebrard said that during the second meeting of security chiefs from Latin America and the Caribbean that recently took place in Bolivia, police forces agreed to develop joint operations beginning in 2005 to fight human trafficking, the activities of the notorious regional gang "Mara Salvatruchas," and vehicle theft.
Ebrard said an Internet network will be created to share information about criminal gangs in Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean.
