Democrats 'idealistic,' GOP 'patriotic'

NEW YORK, Aug. 29 (UPI) -- Republicans felt the best label that describes their party was "patriotic," in a survey by DYMO a leading U.S. producer of label makers for home and office.

The survey of Democrats, Independents and Republicans across the United States examined the many labels associated with political affiliation and found Democrats see themselves as "idealistic" and "patriotic"

In describing their political nemesis, 2 in 5 Democrats were quick to label Republicans as "pro-military," while 40 percent of Democrats felt Independents were "unpredictable," while nearly one-third of Republican voters view their Democratic rivals as "idealistic."

Sixteen percent of the GOP surveyed label their liberal counterparts as "pacifists," and nearly half of Republicans see Independent voters as "unpredictable."

Republicans dislike being called "neocon" and "right wing," and Democrats are sensitive to being called "left wing," the survey found.

Meanwhile, Independent voters feel being called "undecided" and "wishy washy" as unfair.
