U.S. missiles to Jordan limited

LONDON, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- An Arabic newspaper in London reports the United States has agreed to restrict the capability and use of air-to-air missiles sold to Jordon.

A-Sharq Al Awsat also reported Washington has decided against selling the AIM-120 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air missiles to other Arab countries.

The decisions reportedly were made in response to requests from Israel. Earlier this year, the administration asked Congress informally to OK the sale of the missiles to Egypt, Middle East Newsline reported.
