ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Pakistan is offering rewards for six suspected terrorists, two of them wanted for assassination attempts on President Pervez Musharraf.
Advertisements published in local newspapers this week offered 65 million rupees (more than $110,000) for the arrests and promised to protect the informants.
The five Pakistanis and one Libyan are wanted for terrorist attacks carried out inside Pakistan.
The ad does not identify or detail the charges against four of the six suspects, but does identify the two wanted for attempts on Musharraf.
Amjad Hussain Farooqi, a Pakistani, and Abu Faraj, a Libyan, are accused of involvement in two attempts on Musharraf in December that killed about a dozen security guards.
Since mid July, Pakistan has arrested 63 suspected militants, 12 of them foreigners.
