Malaysia, Thailand to curb arms

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Malaysia and Thailand have agreed to work closely to curb firearms, drugs and trafficking in women between the two neighbors.

In the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur, Internal Security Deputy Minister Datuk Noh Omar said the agreement was reached during his visit to the border down of Phuket in Thailand, Malaysia's Bernama news agency reported.

Both countries also discussed trans-border security and steps to address criminal activities, especially in southern Thailand.
