A total of 150 troops from Rwanda will be deployed in Sudan's western Darfur region, with some 150 troops from Nigeria to join them.

U.N. observers have reported a humanitarian crisis in Darfur, where Arab militiamen are accused of killing thousands of ethnic Africans, although they also are Muslims as are the Arabs.

Hundreds of thousands of people have been forced to flee their homes.
