Two girls injured at Ohio State Fair

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- A ride at the Ohio State Fair in Columbus left two girls slightly injured, WCMH-TV reported Monday.

The girls' mothers said they want the Roc 'N' Rapids ride shut down because one child's face lamed into the front of the cart in which she was riding and another child lost a tooth and experienced bleeding.

"She was covered in blood," said the mother of the girl who lost a tooth.

Officials inspected the water ride and said it was safe.

Jerry Smithson of Amusement Risk Management said, "It appears the parents were not watching the children." But the parents said they followed the ride's printed guidelines.
