AMMAN, Jordan, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- Jordan Thursday condemned Israel's decision to expand the main West Bank Jewish settlement of Malle Adumim as an obstruction to peace.
"It is an illegal measure that contradicts the requirements of international resolutions and the Road Map for peace in the Middle East which stipulates an end to settlement activities," government spokeswoman Asma Khoder said.

Israel decided Tuesday to build 600 additional residential units in the settlement, the largest in the West Bank.
Khoder said the move "obstructs peace efforts as well as the creation of an independent Palestinian state on the territories captured by Israel in 1967."
