Saddam's daughter wants U.S. help

AMMAN, Jordan, Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Raghad Hussein, the daughter of Saddam Hussein, wants the United States to help her see her father, but has refused to denounce his regime.

In an interview in Jordan with the New York Daily News, Hussein said she remains proud of her father and of her brothers Uday and Qusay, who died in a battle with U.S. troops.

(They) "died as heroes. They fought until the last bullet. I am proud of them."

She said her father was brave.

"I was proud of his appearance in court, how he was not scared, the way he talked," she said. "He is a brave man."

However, Hussein said she needs assistance from Americans.

"We need an American attorney," Hussein said. "I have nothing against the American people, I know most of them did not want this war. It is your president."
