Gunmen bar PA ministers from Gaza

GAZA, July 28 (UPI) -- Palestinian gunmen protesting an Israeli siege in Beit Hanoun kept two Palestinian Authority ministers from crossing into Gaza Wednesday.

Minister of Social Affairs Intissar al-Wazir and Education Minister Naim Abou al-Homos were forced by the unidentified gunmen to return to Ramallah after they were barred from entering Gaza through the Erez crossing.

The gunmen told the ministers they were protesting the deteriorating living conditions in Beit Hanoun, which has been under Israeli siege for 28 days. The Israelis are trying to curb the firing of rockets toward Israeli towns and Jewish settlements from the city.
