Heinz Kerry tells reporter to 'shove it'

BOSTON, July 26 (UPI) -- Teresa Heinz Kerry, wife of presumptive Democratic candidate John Kerry, told a reporter to "shove it," the Boston Herald reported Monday.

Kerry, who has long been known for her forthright, straight-talking ways, was being pressed by Colin McNickle, editorial page editor of the conservative Pittsburgh Tribune-Review at a Sunday meeting about what she had meant by the term "un-American."

"After repeated denials, she told McNickle, 'You said something I didn't say. Now shove it," the Boston Herald said.

Heinz Kerry is the widow of late Republican Sen. John Heinz, her husband of 25 years. He died in a 1991 plane crash, before she met and married Kerry. She has attracted widespread support and controversy over her penchant for outspoken comments.
