MIAMI, July 20 (UPI) -- A charcoal sketch by Spanish artist Pablo Picasso was stolen from a luxury yacht undergoing repairs at a Miami boatyard, police said.
A police report said the sketch was taken in broad daylight by a bearded man in a turquoise hat, The Miami Herald reported.
Employees who work on the yacht said they saw the man leaving the yacht Thursday and chased him, but he ran to a waiting vehicle and left.
Police said the 147-foot Trident motor yacht was dry-docked at the Jones Boat Yard near Miami.
The value of the sketch is estimated at $200,000, investigators said.
The owners said it was a partial draft of Picasso's painting, Le Trois Danseuses.
The sketch depicts a nude woman with outstretched arm.
The yacht and the sketch are the property of Fairwinds, Inc. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., which is offering a reward of $10,000.
The yacht, the Tajin, is available for charter for $125,000 a week.
