WELLINGTON, New Zealand, July 17 (UPI) -- A woman was missing and presumed dead Saturday following a landslide caused by rain in the New Zealand settlement of Bryan's Beach in the Bay of Plenty.

Beverley Mira Freeman, 67, was digging a drain at the rear of her Wagner Place property with her husband when a landslide came down, knocking their house off its foundations, the New Zealand Herald reported. Freeman's husband ran to safety.
