Hillary Clinton to speak at Dem convention

WASHINGTON, July 16 (UPI) -- Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., asked Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., to speak at the party's convention in Boston July 26.

Clinton accepted Kerry's request Thursday to introduce her husband, former President Bill Clinton, during prime time on the opening night of the Democratic National Convention, Long Island (N.Y.) Newsday reported.

The announcement puts to rest party infighting after a list of convention speakers released earlier in the week did not include the former first lady. 6.

"She is honored and delighted to do it," said Clinton spokesman Joe Householder.
