Nader qualifies for Nevada ballot

CARSON CITY, Nev., July 9 (UPI) -- Ralph Nader's presidential campaign delivered more than 11,000 signatures to election officials, qualifying Nader for this November's ballot in Nevada.

The campaign said it had accumulated 11,348 signatures on petitions asking that Nader be included among ballot options for president in Nevada. The state demands 5,000 valid signatures to qualify for the ballot.

Nader issued a statement saying his candidacy offers voters "more choices and more voices in the presidential campaign."

Some Democrats say Nader was a deciding factor in George Bush's victory over Al Gore in the election for president in 2000. Nader, however, did not decide the election in Nevada, where he took 15,008 votes in a state that Bush won by 21,597 votes.

A Nader campaign spokesman told the Las Vegas Review Journal that Nader expects to be on the ballot in 46 states.
