British teens shot by bandits in Tanzania

PEMBA, Tanzania, July 3 (UPI) -- Two British teenagers were recovering from gunshot wounds in Tanzania Saturday after their diving group was attacked by a gang of bandits.

Grace Forster, 18, from Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire, and a man, believed to be 18 years old, were recovering in a hospital following the incident Friday night at the island of Pemba, the BBC reported. Neither victim's injuries were thought to be life threatening.

The two were part of a group of 25 young people from England who were attacked by a gang of thieves. The attackers were armed with guns and machete knives.

The victims were expected to be flown back to England within the next couple of days.
