WASHINGTON, June 29 (UPI) -- The Democratic National Committee has named veteran publicist and producer William Marshall Jr. to run its media relations to the black community.
DNC Chairman Terry McAuliffe said Tuesday Marshall, will coordinate the DNC's outreach to the U.S. black community through press and television.
"I am proud to have William on board with us," McAuliffe said. "His passion and commitment will ensure that the Democratic message of opportunity resonates in the African American community."
An experienced television and film producer, Marshall previously served as communications director for Rep. Bobby Rush, D-Ill., and as press secretary for former Rep. Gus Savage, D-Ill.
