Iran to reconsider uranium program

TEHRAN, June 19 (UPI) -- Iran said Saturday it will soon decide whether to suspend its uranium enrichment program.

The Voice of America reported Iran's top security official, Hossan Rohani, said Iran has no secret uranium enrichment sites, and would continue to cooperate with the U.N.'s International Atomic Energy Agency.

However, Rohani said Iran will decideduring the coming days whether to resume production of enriched uranium, a material that can be used to produce electricity as well as nuclear weapons. Iran has maintained it only wants to produce electricity.

The statement came a day after the IAEA passed a resolution "deploring" Tehran's failure to cooperate fully with international inspections.
