School bus overturns in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, June 8 (UPI) -- A number of apparently minor injuries were reported when a school bus overturned Tuesday on a San Diego freeway.

KGTV, San Diego, said the bus wound up on its side, blocking at least three lanes on Interstate 5 near Genesee Avenue in the La Jolla area.

Rescuers remained at the scene as paramedics treated as many as eight of the 30-40 students who were on their way to Preuss School, a public middle-and-high school located at the University of California, San Diego.

Rush-hour traffic was more snarled than usual in the area as thousands of commuters tried to make their way into the city.
