Thatcher pays tribute to Reagan

LONDON, June 5 (UPI) -- Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher says the death of former U.S. President Ronald Reagan will be felt by millions for whose freedom he worked.

Thatcher, who is also a conservative and a free-market proponent like Reagan, said she was inspired by Reagan's policies when she led her country, told the Press Association of London that Reagan was "one of my closest political and dearest personal friends."

"He will be missed not only by those who knew him and not only by the nation that he served so proudly and loved so deeply, but also by millions of men and women who live in freedom today because of the policies he pursued," she said.
