Search for Oregon woman grinds on

CORVALLIS, Ore., May 30 (UPI) -- The search for Brooke Wilberger continued in Oregon Sunday with no new leads reported in the disappearance of the 19-year-old coed.

Wilberger, a student at Brigham Young University, vanished last Monday from her sister's Corvallis apartment complex near Oregon State University campus in what police believe might have been a forcible kidnapping.

Volunteers have been scouring the back roads and rural areas of Corvallis. One police official said that if Brooke was dead, her body would probably have been found by now.

Meanwhile, police were holding a suspect in a string of burglaries in the area in which women's underwear was allegedly stolen. KATU-TV. Portland said the suspect, one Sung Koo Kim, was being held on burglary charges and was not a suspect in the Wilberger case but rather a "person of interest" to investigators.
