KARACHI, Pakistan, May 26 (UPI) -- A policeman was killed and 26 people injured Wednesday in two car bomb explosions outside the American Cultural Center in Karachi, Pakistan.

Police, reporters and photographers were inspecting the wreckage of the first blast when the second bomb went off.

One policeman, standing close to the wall, was killed and 26 people, mostly policemen were injured. Some journalists were also injured.

Police impounded a third car, parked near the American building, which they say might have been used by the bombers.

Minutes later, an unidentified man called police to warn that another explosive-fitted car has been placed in a busy commercial and residential area called Guru Mandir and can go off any moment.

Police cordoned off the area and are searching for the car.

The explosions happened two days after police in Karachi arrested six members of a terror ring involved in a previous attack at the American center and an attempt on President Pervez Musharraf.
