Skydiving death seen as possible sucide

LONDON, May 21 (UPI) -- Police say a British skydiver who died in a fall last summer was an apparent suicide.

But, investigators say a final determination in the death of Stephen Hilder, 20, will have to come from the coroner. The Army cadet died after falling 13,000 feet on July 4 last year. Despite interviews with hundreds of people no one emerged as a suspect in the death, Sky News reported.

Officers say that scissors found in Stephen's car, which may have been used to cut his parachute cords, had traces of his DNA, as well as fibers from his chute.

"Our job is to get the evidence and it's now up to the coroner to decide whether he committed suicide," Detective Superintendent Colin Andrews said. "We are satisfied that we are not looking for anyone else in connection with Stephen's death."
